Adonnis Matai Gonzales, age 17, of Pingree Grove, passed away on March 26, 2026.
Adonnis was born on November 18th, 2008 in Austin, Texas, to Angela Trevino and Michael Gonzales. He was currently a junior at Hampshire High School, where he was known for his bright personality and ability to bring joy to those around him.
Adonnis was a wonderful son, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. He had a natural gift for making people laugh – whether through his excellent comedic timing or his playful, easygoing nature. Creative, kind, and endlessly thoughtful, he had a way of lifting spirits wherever he went. He enjoyed helping others and had a growing interest in working on cars, always eager to learn something new. Adonnis also loved food, especially sushi, which was one of his favorites.
He is survived by his loving mother, Angela (Matt Kolleng); his father, Michael (Mayra) Gonzales and their daughter, Mayetzi; his sisters Allayah and Ava; his girlfriend, Karen; and his best friend, Jaxson, along with the many others whose lives he touched deeply. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., with a service at 6:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, Illinois.
