Obituary

Brian D. Haske, 49, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at Deer Path Supported Living, a place that became a second family to him. Brian formed many close friendships there, and he will be deeply missed by the staff and residents who cared for and loved him.
Brian was born on March 2, 1976, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of David Haske and Maryann McCullagh He attended Elgin High School, where he proudly played football, and graduated with the Class of 1994.
A true free spirit, Brian was kind, warm, and welcoming to everyone he met. He had a special way of connecting with people and made friends easily. Brian found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Above all else, his greatest pride and joy was his family—especially his sisters and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Brian will be remembered for his gentle heart, infectious spirit, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Maryann McCullough; step mother; Helen Clesen his loving sisters, Shelia Haske, Maria Haske-Flores (Xerxes Flores), and Christina (Kurt) Whisenand; step sister Colleen Garnett along with nephews; Xerxes Flores jr, Jacob Colon, Issac Whisenand; Lucas Whisenand and nieces Rebecca Colon and Cecilia Flores.
Preceded in death by his father; David M Haske; grandparents Daniel and Rose Csaki; Edward and Francis Haske
A Chicago Bears and Starbucks themed Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m., all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley,

I went to grade school and high school with Brian. Although we did not stay connected, he always was and will be in my heart. I have very fond grade school memories of all of us together. My deepest condolences.
