Maria A. Hansen, 62, of Huntley, died peacefully, September 13, 2025 with her family by her side.
Maria was born October 13, 1962 in Chicago, the daughter of Salvatore and May (Jensen) Perry. On November 13, 1982 she married Randy S. Hansen.
She was a devoted wife and mother, family was everything to her. She was an amazing cook and baker and enjoyed hosting the holidays, especially Thanksgiving.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Hansen, her children, Vincent and Roseanna Hansen, by her siblings Bill Butera and Florence Perry and by many nieces and nephews.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents and by her two brothers, John Butera and Albert Perry.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 1-4pm with a service at 3:30pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to K9s4UAnimal Shelter.

My mom and I met Maria, her mom, Mae, and her wonderful family forty years ago when we moved into their neighborhood in Chicago. Her entire family welcomed us and we became friends. Maria was the dearest person ever, a wonderful wife and mother. My heart is broken over her loss. She will be deeply missed. Rest well, my friend until we all meet, again. ❤️
Randy, Vince and Roseanna, I’m so sorry for your loss. I have many memories of Maria to hold in my heart. I wish you didn’t have to go through this. My heart goes out to you all! Maria was such a force of all that is good about family. I can only imagine the hurt you must all be feeling and wish I could be there for a big group hug. Guy loved you so much and would be sharing your sadness. Maria was always there for anyone who needed help. She understood the meaning and importance of family, which included good food. We were great friends as well as sisters-in-law many years ago. We laughed mostly at someone else’s expense. Ultimately, we had different paths to follow. Unless she drastically changed, she has all those people in heaven lifting their feet so she can vacuum under them.
So sorry to hear of the loss of Maria my prayers for her and her family. May the Lord accept her into his Kingdom and Grant her Eternal Peace.
