Nancy Vaught, 87, of Huntley, Illinois, died peacefully June 2, 2025, at her home with her family by her side.
Mary Nancy Vaught was born November 30, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Wilbert and Mary (Nagel) Rebholz. Nancy was married to William E. Vaught for 58 years, and together they raised two children in a warm and loving home. Nancy enjoyed a successful career as an office manager, serving in key roles at General Electric and Liberty National Bank. She was also a good athlete who enjoyed softball, tennis, and volleyball. One of her most notable athletic achievements was leading her volleyball team to a remarkable 10-year winning streak in the General Electric league. She was also an avid reader and card player and was especially skilled at Bridge. Nancy had a passion for travel, both for the journey itself as well as planning her trips. Nancy had a great sense of humor and always lit up the room with her smiles and laughter. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her husband, William Vaught, her daughter, Andrea Vaught (Anthony Rossano), and her son, Gregory (Kathleen) Vaught, by her grandchildren, Zola, Ansel, Lily, Molly, and Cally, by her sister, Betty Cardillo (Richard) and brother, Robert Rebholz, and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, William and Jack.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10am, preceded by visitation at 9am, at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association or Huntley Animal House Shelter.
