Mary Ann Bellak, a faithful wife of 58 years, devoted mother, and proud grandmother, recently passed away. Born in 1945, she worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company, Welcome Wagon Marketing Service, Barrington House, and Gloria Marshall. Mary Ann truly loved her dogs, cared for her turtles, and enjoyed feeding the birds outside her window.
She read the Bible every day and embodied a Christ-like love for others, offering comfort and prayers to those in need. Often, upon hearing of someone’s struggles through a family member or friend, she would pray earnestly for someone she had never met. Her heart overflowed with charity and generosity, and she often felt guilty that she could not do even more to help.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Jerry, and her three sons, Joe, Jim, and Jerry. Her grandchildren, Leah, Jay, and Johnny, will deeply miss her unconditional love and appreciation. She was predeceased by her sister, Jeanette; her father, Fred, who served in World War I and passed away from mustard gas exposure when Mary Ann was five; and her mother, Dorothy, who died when Mary Ann was 16. Despite these early tragedies, she found cherished fulfillment with her family and friends who loved and supported her dearly.
In Mary Ann’s memory, please perform a sincere act of kindness or service for someone in need. Doing so would both honor her life and inspire us to love one another as Jesus has loved us.
John 14:2 "In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
