Peter Sam Salamone Sr., 71, of Huntley, formerly of River Grove, died peacefully on April 25, 2024.
Peter was born in Chicago on June 12, 1952, to parents Peter and Mary (nee Albano) Salamone. On October 7, 1978, he married his childhood friend, Cynthia “Cindi” Hassler. Together they raised their children in River Grove, before moving to Huntley in 2021.
Peter was a man of great faith and loved his family. He was a doting Nonno to his four grandsons, who were the light of his life.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Cindi Salamone, his children, Joy Marie (Tim) Luperini, and Peter Sam (Carly) Salamone Jr., his grandchildren, Giovanni, Gabriele, Lucca, and Vincent “Vinny,” his sister, Cathy (Scott) McKinney, his sister-in-law, Josephine (the late Joseph) Salamone, his brother-in-law, Angelo (the late Rosemary) Muscia, many nieces and nephews, and his godson, Mark (Dedie) Muscia.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Katie Salamone, Sara Manelle, Frank Salamone, Joseph Salamone, and Rosemary Muscia.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Funeral will be Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 10 a.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Burial to follow at Huntley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to Living Hope Church, 777 Meacham Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007
